Mental Health Support from a Dedicated Professional

All About MH Southern Support – Why We Do What We Do

Deborah founded MH Southern Support so that people with mental health issues could connect with others and prevent themselves from becoming isolated.

Deborah noticed a gap in the services available to NDIS participants. There were plenty of companies offering support in house cleaning, gardening, and other practical tasks, but no one was providing a service for socialising, which is equally vital to a well-rounded and happy life.

Deborah has over 15 years of experience working in disability services, including 7+ years, focusing primarily on mental healthcare. Deborah’s passion led to developing an innovative social support program that offers outings where people dealing with mental health issues can meet up and connect with others in similar situations. Building social networks is essential for mental health and wellbeing, as it can help to prevent isolation and loneliness.

MH Southern Support is the only service of its kind in the region and provides a much-needed service for people with disabilities who want to socialise and network.

Why Choose MH Southern Support?

Here at MH Southern support, we believe in better mental health through socialising. Social connections have several benefits for mental health, including reducing isolation, improving mood and self-esteem, and providing support during difficult times. The benefits of connecting with others can be profound. That's why we work to break down the isolation barrier, encouraging our participants to socialise and make friends with like-minded people. Talking and relating are essential to enjoying a fun day out, and we're here to facilitate those interactions in a safe and supportive environment.

Our events are designed to be enjoyable and inclusive, so everyone can participate and have fun. We believe that our participants will feel more connected, supported and valued by talking and relating to others. If you want to join us on one of our outings or events, please get in touch – we would love to welcome you!
